KRAYON Art Market 2026

21–22 NOV

For International Artists

International Hub

Welcome to the International Hub! We know there are a few extra things to consider when bringing your art to Australia, so we’ve put together some helpful information covering visas, insurance, tax, and more!

Please note that this information is provided as a general guide only. Requirements can vary depending on your individual circumstances, so please check with the relevant Australian authorities or a qualified professional where needed.

🌏 Visa & Travel

If you're travelling from overseas, you'll generally need a valid Australian visa to enter Australia, even for a short visit. The visa you need depends on your passport, individual circumstances, and what you'll be doing in Australia.

If you're coming specifically to participate and sell at KRAYON, please make sure your visa allows this activity. You can check your available options and whether this is applicable to you in the resources below.

** Potential applicable visas have been linked below but this may differ depending on individual circumstances

💵 Payment Methods

Both cash and card payments are commonly used at Australian art markets, so we recommend offering whichever payment methods work best for your setup. Attendees typically prefer to avoid card surcharge so there will be attendees who prefer cash payments.

If you're accepting card or contactless payments, please make sure your payment provider works in Australia and supports international transactions where applicable.

📄 Insurance

Public liability insurance helps protect you if someone is injured or their property is damaged as a result of your activities at the market. For example, this could apply if a customer trips over something at your table, is injured by part of your display, or their belongings are accidentally damaged while interacting with your setup.

All KRAYON artists are required to have public liability insurance with a minimum coverage of $10 million. To acquire Public Liability Insurance, you will need to get it from an Australian Insurance Provider. A 'Certificate of Currency' will be provided as proof of your public liability coverage which is the document that KRAYON will need from artists.

** For short-term $10 million coverage, policies should typically be no more than $100 AUD

✒️ Tax / GST

Tax obligations and requirements depend on your individual circumstances, so we've included some general information below to help you understand what may apply.

Do I need to register for GST (Goods and Services Tax)?

No, not necessarily. The general GST registration threshold is $75,000 AUD. Meaning that you don't need to register for GST if your turnover is below $75,000 AUD. If you're not registered for GST, you should not add GST to your prices.

Power & Plug

Australia uses Type I power plugs and a standard voltage of 230V at 50Hz. If you're travelling from overseas, your usual plugs may not be compatible with Australian power outlets.

If you're bringing anything that needs to be plugged in such as a card reader, phone charger, display lighting or other equipment, check that it supports 230V / 50Hz and bring a suitable travel adapter where needed.
